Author Gary W. Moore will be featured in the February 2006 issue of Southwest Spirit
Every month, “Spirit” magazine features a passenger who frequently travels on Southwest Airlines, and how traveling allows them to be successful in their job and their life. The article will discuss Moore’s travel for his business, AQUAtiva, and the fact that he wrote a large part of his upcoming book Playing with the Enemy aboard Southwest planes and at Southwest gates while traveling.
“I am thrilled and honored to say the least. I love Southwest and am humbled by this opportunity,” says Moore.
Playing with the Enemy is the real-life story of Moore’s father, Warren E. ‘Gene’ Moore. The elder Moore was recruited by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1939 at fifteen years old, but his baseball dream was cut short when the United States entered WWII. Moore’s tale is a heartwarming story of a baseball tragedy, turned real-life triumph.
Earlier this year, Illinois newspaper “The Southern” featured Playing with the Enemy in an article that was picked up by the Associated Press and distributed nationally.
Playing with the Enemy will be published by famed historical publisher Savas Beatie, LLC.
“We are particularly pleased with the acquisition of the rights to publish Gary Moore’s Playing with the Enemy (Fall 2006), a rich and deeply moving biography of his father Gene’s remarkable life,” says Theodore P. Savas, managing director of Savas Beatie LLC.
